The Rwanda Rugby federation  Exco  met clubs president on Sunday 20/01/2019 at  Amahoro stadium conferenceto share them activity planned 2019 and the new sponsor of Rwanda Rugby national league 2019.

The president of Rwanda rugby federation tharcisse kamanda  highlighted that 2019 activity  planned will mainly focus on the development especially in organizing tournaments in shools both boys and girls (under  14,15,19), Rwanda will also participate for the first time in African silver cup 13-24 june2019 which will be held in ivory coast in pool B of African silver which include ( ivory coast, Senegal, Maurituis, Rwanda) while  Pool A: 6-17 June 2019 (Madagascar, Ghana, Botswana, Nigeria). He continued saying that the 2019 Rwanda Rugby  national league will be sponsored by Akilh Institute which will start on 2nd, march2019. The sponsorship of Akilah institute will not be enough to run the whole league.  The federation will organize seven tournament which will include the ten teams  before the start of the Rugby national league as a way of continuing attracting other sponsors.

The Rwanda Rugby nationa league 15 aside is annually played in two league comprising eighty teams: Kigali league (Lions de Fer RFC, Kigali sharks RFC, Thousand Hills RFC, Remera Buffalloes),south league( Muhanga thunders RFC,Puma kamonyi RFC, Resilience RFC, UR Grizllies RFC) this year Rwanda Rugby national league will be joined by two teams( Tumba jaguar RFC,Burera tigers RFC)

The Rwanda Rugby Federation (RRF) as the umbrella organisation that unites the entire rugby fraternity in Rwanda. RRF has been administering, developing and generally organising all rugby activities since 2002, not only through out Rwanda but on the continental level as well. The RRF has since grown further countrywide with over 800 active players, 300 female players, a robust fun club, ardent well wishers and intensive involvement in the development of the game in over 240 schools from all districts in Rwanda not to mention the RRF’s participation in community projects.
