The 2016 Rugby season begins
This year’s season will begin this Sunday with the National senior men’s league first game, where the Thousand Hills RFC will take on the Kigali Sharks RFC at UTEXRWA at 3:30 pm and Muhanga RFC will play against Puma RFC from Kamonyi in Muhanga at 3 pm.
The National league was delayed due to teams preparation and so on, the decision and the fixtures were officially announced and published by RRF to all club members, after a workshop which was held at Car wash on the 8th of this month including clubs representatives and RRF executive committee and also agreed on the feasibility of the league as well as policies to be followed.
This year’s National League will be played in two regions respectively, central or Kigali city and Southern province. Teams from Kigali will include the Remera Buffaloes RFC, Thousand Hills RFC, Lions de Fer RFC and Kigali Sharks RFC, in the southern province we will have Muhanga RFC, UR Grizzlies, Kamonyi Puma and the new comers Rusizi Resilience RFC.
The RRF therefore takes the opportunity to wish all teams a pleasant season full of fun and fair play, and welcomes you all fans to support their teams and grow the good game of rugby in our beloved country!
